Wednesday - Ephesians 6:10-12
10 Finally, ebe strong in the Lord and in fthe strength of his might. 11 gPut on hthe whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ithe schemes of the devil. 12 For jwe do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against kthe rulers, against the authorities, against lthe cosmic powers over mthis present darkness, against nthe spiritual forces of evil oin the heavenly places.
The thing that stuck out to us the most was that the strength to be strong is sourced from the Lord and not from us. It is so easy to rely on our own strength to get us through or to fight spiritual battles. But when we choose to be strong in His strength, we have eyes to see the real battles, to stay strong during attacks, and to actually take ground from the enemy.
ReplyDeleteIn ministry and in other areas of life, it is so easy to fall for the deception that the battle is with others, but our battle is only against our spiritual enemies. Even when we are attacked by those und the influence of our enemy, we must remember that they aren't our adversary, Satan and his demons are.
"be strong in the Lord..." We must rely on the strength of the Lord to fight the enemy. We can't do this on our own.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting the use of the word "wrestle". Sounds very benign that we will wrestle against darkness and the powers over the darkness. I suppose that means the ultimate battle to slay the darkness is the Lord's.
